Inclusivity And Diversity At Under Armour

The world can come together through athletics, inspire people, and change, according to Under Armour. Together, we have seen a pandemic that has affected the entire world, extreme racial violence, xenophobia, civic upheaval, and growing polarisation.

It has been a really difficult and emotionally taxing time. As we continue the struggle for advancement, our tenacity has been put to the test. We will always be Under Armour. We work as a unit. We also firmly support equality.

It is the driving force behind everything we do and will always be a core value. We've had a diversity and inclusion strategy since 2017, but in the wake of the worldwide call for justice in 2020, we held ourselves more accountable to taking greater action. By setting audacious promises for, we expedited our diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.

Under Armour today announced a series of new diversity and inclusion actions related to hiring, compensation, and workplace culture in an effort to enact lasting change and greater accountability.

In addition to the company's existing commitment to having 30% of director and above positions represented by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), it has committed to filling 12% of those roles specifically with Black talent by 2023. (The current percentages are 20% and 7%, respectively.

In addition, the company stated that by 2023, 30% of its executive team succession slates will be filled by BIPOC, with 12% filled by Black talent.

Other hiring and promotion objectives include tying executive annual incentive pay to meeting these targets, tripling its investment in professional development for underrepresented employees, and doubling its investment in finding diverse talent, which includes Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, and other BIPOC organisations.

Under Armour has launched a virtual series to encourage meaningful conversations about anti-racism and racial justice issues in an effort to make the company's environment more inclusive. It will begin mandatory cultural competency and inclusive environment training for its leaders next month.
